Student Art Exhibition

The Student Art Exhibition is a biannual juried exhibition organized by the Center for Career Development and held in the Wilbur Cross Building. This exhibition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at UConn. For the Fall 2017 show, any artwork submitted for consideration will also be eligible to be displayed in the Rowe Building.

Submission is now open for the Fall 2017 show.

Entries:

Each exhibiting artist must complete an online application with only one artist per entry, unless they are entering as collaborating artists. Collaborating artists is defined as a group of two or more artists that work together on any one piece of artwork. If multiple students collaborate, it is considered one joint entry.

A separate online application must be completed for each piece the student(s) would like to enter. Students can submit up to 5 artworks. In addition to filling out all form areas, students must also submit:

  1. An image of the artwork they would like to submit as either a PNG, GIF, or JPG file
  2. Updated résumé (For assistance updating your resume, visit the Resume Critique Walk-In hours, Monday through Friday from 10 AM – 5 PM in WCB 202.)
  3. Artist statement

If submitting an online video, students should include a link (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.) to their video piece in the provided section of the application. Video files cannot be uploaded. If students are collaborating, résumés must be submitted for each student in the collaborating group.

Jurying:

The selection process will begin immediately after the submission deadline. All accepted entries will be notified via email. A select number of entries will be put on the wait-list if for any reason one of the selected artists chooses to no longer participate or fails to get work in on time.

Drop-Off of Works:

If selected, you must deliver your work no later than 4 PM on August 28th,  2017. If you have questions about display of your work, please contact Amanda Carchedi at amanda.carchedi@uconn.edu.

At the end of the semester, each artist is responsible for the picking up their work.

Show Dates and Opening Reception:

The exhibition will run the full length of a semester. An opening reception will be held at the beginning of the semester. Faculty, staff, students, family and friends are welcome to attend.
