A number of recruitment events are held annually by the Center for Career Development on the UConn campus, giving employers several opportunities to connect with our students.
The Fall Career Fair is held in early fall and hosts representatives from numerous companies and organizations. These representatives make themselves available to meet and talk with approximately 2,000 students and alumni about their companies and the employment opportunities available. The STEM Career Fair, held in early fall, is designed for employers with opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to recruit these students in one place on one day. Also held in the fall, the Reverse Career Fair is for student groups to showcase their on-campus activities to employers. The Internship & Co-op Fair, held in February, provides an opportunity for businesses and government agencies to meet with students and focus specifically on cooperative education, internship and summer career-related experiences. Also in February, the Center for Career Development and Community Outreach host human services and non-profit organizations for our annual Careers for the Common Good Career Fair. At the end of March, the Department offers the Spring Career Fair for students looking for full-time positions and internship opportunities.
Prior to several of our fairs, we present a “Navigating the Career Fair Panel” of employers interested in sharing their best practices with our students, to enable them to better prepare for the upcoming event. Employers interested in volunteering for a panel should contact Lisa McGuire, Lisa.McGuire@uconn.edu.
