How To Balance Your Life

Ever get that overwhelming feeling that there just is not enough time in the day to get everything done?

You’re not alone. More and more students are taking harder courses, getting involved in more extracurricular activities, securing a job, etc., leaving them with the feeling that the number of hours in a day are diminishing faster and faster.

With so much going on in your life, it can be easy to lose your balance on life.

Here are a few tips to find balance every day:


  1. Organize Yourself

The easiest way to stay levelheaded when feeling overwhelmed is to get organized. Buy a planner and map out each day weekly. By visually seeing your schedule, you will be able to remember your events and tasks better, and you will realize there is enough time to do everything! You just have to do it in a timely and organized manner.


  1. Set Priorities and Boundaries

If you are one of those go-getter’s who feel the need to be involved in everything, that is great. But you also have to realize everyone has a limit, even you. Sit down and contemplate what is important to you, what you want to get out of life, and prioritize your tasks around that. Instead of doing a little bit of everything, do a lot of something that you are passionate about. Prioritize what’s important and set boundaries on what you should get involved in.


  1. Set Goals

Know what your long-term goals are, and customize your short-term goals so you will progress towards those longer ones. Realizing and being aware of what you’re working towards will help motivate you and keep you grounded.


  1. Get some “me” time

Relax. Exercise. Spend time with family and friends. Taking time out of your day to recharge makes such a difference. In the midst of everything, don’t forget to take care of yourself!
