Many of you who attended the Career Fair may be wondering where can I go from here? The answer is HuskyCareerLink! HuskyCareerLink is a job posting site where employers are looking specifically for UConn students. You can login in using your NetID and password.
Once you have logged in, you can update your profile with details such as your contact information and major and upload your résumé. You can use HuskyCareerLink to network with employers, and to look for jobs, internships, and co-ops. You can opt in to add your résumé to a field-related résumé book. On Campus Interviews are also scheduled through HuskyCareerLink. HuskyCareerLink is one of our most underutilized resources. I encourage you all to visit the site at huskycareerlink.uconn.edu
Another powerful resource is LinkedIn. LinkedIn is like a professional Facebook. It is a great way to connect with fellow students, friends you made at an internship or to network with professors, alumni and employers. Some employers will look at your profile to further assess you as a candidate. A well-developed profile has a professional picture, an up-to-date résumé and a few connections. You can customize your LinkedIn URL on the “edit profile” page. If you are proud of the way your page looks, you can list your URL in your contact information on your résumé. If you have any questions on HuskyCareerLink or LinkedIn, come into our office and meet with a Career Counselor. We also have a LinkedIn supplement available on the Student Resources page on our new website.
