Career Connections for All Majors

Let me ask you something…

Are you on the job search and want to visit different worksites? Are you an underclassman that wants to know the best strategies for building your resume? Do you want to take a Friday off to learn about the workforce?

If you said yes to any of these questions, we have something great lined up for you. It’s called Career Connections. The Center for Career Development is hosting the first of what will hopefully be many Career Connections events on Friday, November 7th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Here, you will get to take a field trip to Northwestern Mutual’s offices in West Hartford, CT, where you will be able to learn about this company’s internship programs, meet with UConn alumni, and take part in activities such as an etiquette lunch and Q&A sessions to learn more about what it’s like to work in the finance sector.

This trip does not only benefit the business majors, however. Northwestern Mutual has openings for students in all kinds of majors. This is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in anything from Finance to Psychology to look for job positions that best fit your interests and career goals. You hear it from people all of the time; the connections that you build with employers make the difference when looking for a job position, and this is one of the best chances for you to build those connections with employers and alumni alike.

To RSVP, go onto HuskyCareerLink (all you need to log on is your NetID and Password) and look for Career Connections: Northwestern Mutual in the workshops section under “Events.”
