Common questions in the mind of a college student revolve around interview etiquette, LinkedIn, entrepreneurship, and the job search process. In collaboration with UConn Center for Career Development, the Evisors webinar series provides answers to these questions and more!
What is Evisors?
Evisors is a virtual library of over 150 webinars offering career advice from industry insiders, with live videos incorporated regularly. You can view various webinars from experts in the field on uconn.evisors.com by signing in with your UConn e-mail. These videos are a perfect tool for students who do not have convenient access to an advisor.
How can Evisors help?
Evisors is a great resource for students who are looking for quick information on a wide variety of topics. Videos can be viewed at any time and provide students with career advice from industry insiders. For example, one topic that I was keen to learn more about was legal aspects of starting one’s own company. While browsing the website, I came across a video called “Startup Legal Essentials.” Peter Rothberg, a partner of Reitler Kailas & Rosenblatt, leads the webinar and reviews the basic legal aspects of a startup, including the most common mistakes and how to avoid them. This video may be beneficial for students who are interested in becoming an entrepreneur or those with a passion for law.
How do I use Evisors?
On the website, students can filter by sector, topic, stage, presenter, and state. In my case, as an undergraduate Biology major, I may be interested in filtering the webinars to the ‘Health Care’ sector and the ‘Undergraduate’ stage. This filter allows students to individualize the website in order to search for the most relevant information.
