Utilizing Recruit Military to Search for Job Opportunities

Recruit Military is the #1 military-to-civilian recruiting firm.  They offer free, comprehensive job search and career transition services for veterans of the U.S. Military. If you have served in the U.S. Military in any way at any time, you qualify to use the Recruit Military services, free of charge.

Recruit Military connects veterans with thousands of employers seeking quality candidates with the unique and well-rounded skill sets a military background provides. They have their own job board, which can help you narrow down your job search based on the field you’re looking to work in, the location of your desired position, which can be narrowed down by city and state, and the date posted, so you can look at the most up-to-date listings available.

Each job description contains a basic purpose of the position, major responsibilities that you would be expected to perform, the level of education or experience needed (if applicable), skills and typical physical demands, and a brief overview of the company who posted the listing. If you find that a particular position may not be quite the right fit for you, you can scroll all the way down to the bottom of the listing where you will find a list with 4-5 recommended similar job postings that you may find to be better suited for your needs. These recommended jobs tend to be in the same industry, with a similar position title, and in the same location as the original job posting, so you have a really good chance of finding a position that you can apply for.

In addition to the job board, Recruit Military also hosts veteran job fairs throughout the country. On their job fair schedule, you can see the list of events sorted by the location and the date of the event. Though these events are typically held in-person, all of the current job fairs listed are being held in an online format. You can use this online format to your advantage if you’re looking for a position in a specific area because you can now attend their virtual job fair without having to travel to that location.

One event that you may be interested in is their Eastern Region Virtual Career Fair, held on multiple dates, including August 18, 2020, and December 15, 2020. This career fair is geared towards candidates who are interested in pursuing careers in the eastern United States, so if you are in Connecticut and are planning to stay within the area, this job fair may be for you!

If you click on the job fair listing, you can look through a list of the organizations that will be attending the job fair, the position types that are being offered, the areas in which they are currently recruiting, and the position locations. Each job fair lasts approximately four hours, and every organization chooses their own chat times during the event, so you have ample opportunity to get to know each organization and get in touch with their recruiters to find out more information about their opportunities.

If you’re not quite sure about the location of where you’d like to work, but you still would like to attend a job fair, then you have the option of attending the National Virtual Career Fair, also held on multiple dates, including September 1, 2020, and November 24, 2020. This job fair is very similar to the Eastern Region Virtual Career Fair, except that the organizations are recruiting for positions nationwide.

If you’re interested in attending a job fair or applying for a position on Recruit Military’s job board, they also provide their own Employment Resource Center, where you will find résumé guidance, interview preparation advice, tips on networking, and regular job market updates. These tools can help you be successful and maximize your potential as an applicant as you continue your job search. Join Recruit Military, and begin your search for a career today!
