Graduate Student Success Story – Kelly Ha

Kelly Ha is a second-year Masters of Social Work student in the Individuals, Groups, and Family Practice concentration, as well as a student in the Certificate in Foundations of Public Health program. She is the daughter of a Vietnamese refugee, and the first member of her family to attend college. On the Brave Space Podcast, she addresses her experiences as an Asian-American student at UConn, and what she’s done to rally her peers behind the #IAmNotAVirus campaign on social media, which brings awareness to the anti-Asian bigotry and violence that followed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
