I can work at the VA?

Service to country and service to community oftentimes plays an important role in Veteran’s lives even in civilian life. Volunteering is not the only way to help those in need. The Veteran Employment Services Office (VESO) offers a wealth of resources to gain federal employment and employment at the VA including VA for Vets, Feds for Vets, and Recruitment and Career Readiness Support.

If you’ve served your country you understand the unique challenges that Veterans face. With a career at the VA, you can make a difference in the life of fellow Veterans. The VA for Vets website highlights internships, federal jobs, and featured private-sector jobs that may align with your skills and interests.

Applying for a federal job is a bit different than applying for a civilian job and on VA for Vets, you can find an entire suite of resources about what you can expect from that process including Veterans’ Preference, Noncompetitive Hiring, Navigating USAJobs, and what to do after you apply. The Center for Career Development can also help you along the way!
