“Ascend is the largest, non-profit Pan-Asian membership organization for business professionals in North America.” The career fair provides an opportunity for all Ascend members to meet with recruiters and representatives from various industries looking to hire diverse Pan-Asian talent. In addition, this year’s convention will focus on the theme of Resilience in Action “to demonstrate the critical importance of recovering quickly and efficiently from insurmountable disruptions by learning from challenges and converting them into opportunities for all.”
Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA)
2021 Annual Convention | August 24-28, 2021
AAJA is a non-profit professional and educational organization that “ensures Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders can thrive in journalism, as well as promotes fair and accurate representation of AAPI communities”. This year’s convention will be sponsored by WarnerMedia and will honor AAJA’s 40th anniversary with the theme “Proudly Looking Back, Boldly Moving Forward”.
Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA)
2021 Annual Convention | October 1-3, 2021
AAPA is an organization whose mission is to “advance the mental health and well-being of Asian American communities through research, professional practice, education, and policy. The annual convention “features presentations by researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers and provides an educational forum on issues in Asian American psychology and Asian American mental health.” The convention offers keynote addresses and symposia, numerous presentations, activities and banquets designed to encourage discussion between presenters and participants, and also features a book drive that provides access and discounts to books, recent publications, and other works of fiction and non-fiction of interest to AAPA members. “To facilitate and encourage student participation, AAPA also funds annual student travel awards to the convention raised from the proceeds of the book drive.”
The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE)
2021 National Conference & STEM Career Fair | October 14-16, 2021
SASE is a non-profit organization “dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential.” The National Conference and STEM Career Fair is the largest 2.5-day “conference and career fair for Asian Americans in the United States”. The event provides access to 70+ companies as well as numerous professional and leadership development workshops and networking opportunities.
