Calling all future public servants! College to Congress seeking highly motivated students with low-income or underrepresented backgrounds to apply for our fully paid Congressional Internship Program in Washington DC.
College to Congress (C2C) is a nonprofit organization that creates pathways for students to intern in Congress who could not otherwise afford to do so. By empowering the next generation of passionate young leaders to kickstart their careers in public service, we get one step closer to creating a more effective Congress that reflects the true diversity of America.
I had always wanted to intern on Capitol Hill, but it was inaccessible for me as someone from a low-income household. C2C was able to make it a reality for me. The program is amazing!

We provide full-time, paid Congressional internships to underrepresented students. The program is free of charge for all participants. C2C will:
- Secure paid Congressional internships
- Cover ALL expenses (housing, food, transportation, professional clothing, etc.)
- Provide training and support with top DC public service professionals
- Connect you with the robust C2C Alumni Network
- Foster lifelong friendships with other C2C “Hill-terns”
The Capitol to Congress Internship Program takes place in Washington, DC from June 1 – August 5, 2022.
Who Can Apply
We accept applications from college juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates (within one calendar year of graduation at the time of application close).
Students must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Have proof of Pell Grant eligibility during most recent undergraduate semester
- Have DACA status
- Receive federal financial aid as a student with disabilities
Our program is open to students from all political parties. We believe that careers in Congress need to be more accessible for young leaders from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds – whether they identify as Republican, Democrat, or Independent. We place students in any office that has committed to paying their interns.
