The Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a university-sponsored organization that provides unique entrepreneurial experiences to engage students, faculty, and alumni in a way that sparks creativity and innovation in the solutions to some of the biggest problems we face today. The center has many different resources available for people to use, such as their venture and startup support programs, entrepreneurship course offerings, research grants, network-building experiences, and hands-on learning programs. They even provide ways to start brainstorming startup ideas, ways to be creative in the workplace and with your branding, and more through both on and off-campus resources such as the Thinkfwd Toolkit for innovation.

One particular opportunity sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is BUILD Hartford. BUILD Hartford is a 3 credit course offered to both undergraduate and graduate students that connects them with Launc[H], a driving force of development in Hartford’s innovation ecosystem, to understand potential markets and the entrepreneurial environment, build connections with community stakeholders, and work to develop innovative, attainable and sustainable solutions to various economic and entrepreneurial problems present in the city of Hartford. Students taking this course will also work with instructors to find and pitch various mentor and community partner opportunities.

The BUILD Hartford program will take place from January 21, 2022 to April 29, 2022 and is accepting applications from now until January 13, 2022 on a rolling basis. Please note that classes will be held each Friday from 12:00 to 2:00pm in Downtown Hartford at the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and students will need to be able to travel to the Graduate Business Learning Center in Downtown Hartford in order to attend class.
