Student Activity Spotlight: UCTV

UConn Student Television (UCTV) has been the official student-run television station at the University of Connecticut since 1991. UCTV covers a wide variety of on and off-campus events and news and offers great opportunities for students who are interested in broadcast media, content production, and other futures in media. There are six unique departments that makeup UCTV, so there is sure to be something for everyone! UCTV ADVERTISTING 

The Advertising Department at UCTV creates professional advertising material for on and off-campus organizations. The Advertising team prides itself on being the best way to reach the UConn community in meaningful and lasting ways.

UCTV ENTERTAINMENT 

The Entertainment Department creates TV shows and music for all departments of UCTV to utilize in productions. With the Entertainment Department, a student has the opportunity to create their own TV show, short skit, or music video! There are many roles within the Entertainment team, including producer, director, camera operator, actor/actress, and more!

The Film Department of UCTV creates cinematic masterpieces and brings film appreciation to UConn. The Film Department is full of opportunities both for students wanting to pursue a career in cinematography and film and for students who want a creative outlet from their extracurricular activities. The Film team participates in screenings and festivals to showcase their productions.

UCTV EVENTS 

The Events Department of UCTV specializes in filming UConn events for public access. Students can get experience filming and editing events such as concerts, speeches, and other on-campus events. The Events team is at all the campus happenings and gets paid for their work too!

UCTV NEWS 

The News Department of UCTV produces content pertaining to current events and local news. Members of the News team seek out on and off-campus stories and follow them through the production process. This is a great way for students to get a taste of broadcast news media and highlight events and news about the University.

UCTV SPORTS 

The Sports Department of UCTV creates content related to both collegiate and professional sporting events. The Sports team films at most home sporting events and some major away events. The Sports Department gives the UConn community an inside look at press conferences, game results, and player interviews.
