Working in Healthcare VS. Working in Wellness

Working in Healthcare and Wellness are incredibly rewarding career paths rooted in helping others be their best physical and mental selves. These careers share many likenesses and values around human health but offer differing pathways and specializations. Working in healthcare includes professions that help physical functions and focuses on people that are in need, sick, injured, disabled, or facing crisis or emergency. Working in wellness focuses on teaching healthy lifestyles and improving all areas of one’s life outside of physical functions. Both hold the same goals of health and happiness. They provide the world with many professionals and professions to achieve that.

Some example careers in healthcare focused on physical health include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, speech pathologists, nutritionists, and more. There are numerous professions that focus on every part of the human body that needs research, treatment, and care. Careers in wellness can look like mental health professionals, life coaches, wellness consultants, meditation coaches, and other specialized topics around lifestyle wellness. While careers in both healthcare and wellness differ in their types of professions, they strive for similar goals of improving one’s overall functioning and everyday lifestyle choices.
