The Women affinity community has many resources for students who identify as women as they embark on their career journeys. We will cover several of these resources in this article, beginning with the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau.
The Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor works to promote working women’s interests. They are responsible for developing policies and conducting inquiries into working women’s issues in order to advance their equality and economic security. Their website has many resources for working women, ranging from news about the latest feminist advances to resources pertaining to current workplace issues, such as working amid the coronavirus pandemic.
For those searching for work, Feminist Jobs is a job posting site that updates frequently and even sends out a weekly digest for users to subscribe to. People have been finding employment on Feminist Jobs for over twenty years. For women looking to work in a feminist-forward workplace, Feminist Jobs can help. Feminist Jobs can also help college students find internships, not necessarily full employment. On their website, you can search by job type: full-time, part-time, freelance, temporary, fellowship, internship, or volunteer.
The BOLD Women’s Leadership Network (BOLD) is a program fostering leadership in college women to prepare them for the years after graduation. BOLD creates opportunities for women’s career development through networking, scholarships, programs, and fellowships for after graduation. Check out their Instagram here to see UConn featured!
