Iris Air Photobooth Crash Lands at the Center!

The Iris Air photobooth, sponsored by General Dynamics: Electric Boat, has officially arrived at the UConn Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills! In the past, getting a professional headshot required waiting in lines at the latest career fair, potentially wasting valuable time to spend with employers. Now, students who would like a professional headshot can get one from the Center in the Wilbur Cross building at their own convenience!

When you get to the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills on the second floor of Wilbur Cross, front and center will be a large white screen with a small stool in front. Feel free to sit down, and start up the photo process by scanning the QR code on the screen. There is a touch option if you forgot your phone, however I find touchless to be much more convenient. Once you scan the QR code, the booth redirects you to type in your email, which is used to send the finished photos quickly and efficiently after taking and editing them. One thing super cool about the Iris photo booth is that it allows you to set up either a 3 or 6 second timer depending on how long you need to prepare. The booth allows 3 photos per session with retakes, and even offers tips for posing.

After your photo is taken the Iris allows you to edit right away, offering filters, blemish removal, teeth whitening and more. Once you feel like you have the photo you want, you can press the finish editing button and find an email from Iris almost immediately after with a link to your photos. This makes it super convenient to get your photos right after you take them – no more waiting around to update your LinkedIn!

Best of all, the Iris is free to use and available at the UConn Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills during business hours (M-F, 8 AM – 5 PM)
