2025 First Destination Outcomes For Undergraduate Students

I’m pleased to report that the results for the 2025 graduating class indicate that 91% of undergraduate students have reported favorable outcomes (employed 56%, continuing education 30%, other 5%) at the six-month post-graduation milestone. A 91% favorable outcome rate represents a 7-percent increase since the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills started tracking these outcomes in 2016.

Overview of 2025 Undergraduate Outcomes Data

The percentage of students from Connecticut who remained in Connecticut for jobs after graduation is noteworthy. These outcomes are of particular interest as they indicate how UConn continues to support the talent pipeline and economic development of the State of Connecticut. These 2024 six-month post-graduation statistics are as follows:
- 77% of employed in-state graduates (CT residents) are working in the state, a 1-percentage point increase from last year.
- 24% of employed out-of-state graduates remain in the state for employment, a 7-percentage point increase from last year.
The average annual starting salary was $67,500, $3,500 higher than last year.
Graduates that attended at least one event, one career fair, and one coaching appointment during their time at UConn had an average annual starting salary $5,000 higher than those that did not.
78% of students reported participating in an experiential learning opportunity (internship or co-op) during their undergraduate career at UConn.
73% of graduates that utilized Career Center services said their job is either directly or very related to their career goals, 7% higher than those that did not utilize our services.
86% of graduating students utilized services provided by the Career Center during their time at UConn. This compares favorably to the 2024 NACE survey that indicates that 60% of graduating students utilized career services at their institutions during their undergraduate careers.

Of that 91%: 56% Employed, 30% Continuing Education, less than 1% each Serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Participating in Volunteer Service, 4% Other. In-State Grads: 77% of employed in-state graduates work in CT and 75% of in-state graduates continuing their education are enrolled at CT institutions. Out-of-State Grads: 24% of employed out-of-state, graduates work in CT and 40% of out-of-state graduates continuing their education are enrolled at CT institutions. Experiential Learning: 12% increase in positive outcomes rate for graduates that participated in at least one experiential learning opportunity, 78% of graduates participated in at least one experiential learning opportunity prior to graduation, 15% increase in graduates participating in experiential learning when utilizing Career Services. Utilizing Career Services: 86% of UConn respondents report using Career Services vs. 60% nationally. Employment Related to Career Goals: When using Career Services, 73% reported their job is either directly or very related to their current career goals vs. 66% when not using Career Services. Average Yearly Starting Salary: $67,500, Graduates that attended at least one event, one career fair, and one coaching appointment during their time at UConn had an average annual starting salary $5,000 higher than those that did not. Knowledge Rate for survey is 70%. This is the percent of graduates for which there is reasonable and verifiable information concerning the graduates' post-graduation career activities.
