How Quinncia Improved My LinkedIn Profile

As the coldest semester I’ve ever experienced went on, so did the networking events, career fairs, and employer connections. I started to think beyond the résumé aspect. Recruiters were also looking at my LinkedIn profile. While building up experiences, I realized that my LinkedIn profile was not presenting them as clearly or professionally as it could. That’s when I decided to take a closer look at my LinkedIn profile using tools available through the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills.

When I uploaded my profile, I received a score broken down into categories like ‘General’ and ‘Content’, along with flags and specific improvement suggestions. Seeing my profile evaluated helped me understand that my LinkedIn profile could be written more strategically. The most helpful parts of the feedback were that Quinncia explained why these certain changes mattered. For example, it pointed out areas where my experience descriptions were too broad and recommended adding more detailed bullet points. Quinncia emphasizes the importance of keywords and technical skills that recruiters look for. The platform guided me through the process of incorporating skills and descriptions, so my profile better reflects both my academic background and professional experiences. It also highlighted missing sections, such as projects and skills under certain roles, that could strengthen how my profile appears in searches and to employers.

What stood out most to me was that Quinncia’s feedback felt like coaching rather than a response that I could find online. As I made updates, I could see how my profile became more complete and more aligned with what employers look for. After refining my LinkedIn profile with Quinncia, I felt more confident about sharing my résumé and connecting with professionals, alumni, and recruiters online. My profile now better communicates who I am, what I’ve done, and where I want to go. Quinncia helped build a stronger foundation, and the next step was meeting with a Career Readiness and Life Skills coach to further tailor my profile for my career goals.

If you’ve been focusing only on your résumé, consider how your LinkedIn profile tells your story as well. Taking time to refine your online presence can make a meaningful difference in how confidently you pursue opportunities. By improving my profile, I now feel it is better equipped to be discovered by recruiters and to pursue employment opportunities with more confidence in LinkedIn.
