How have you personally used and benefitted from the Center for Career Development?

The Center for Career Development has changed the way that I look at a résumé. Through both having my own résumé critiqued and the intern training process, I have been exposed to a wealth of information about how to best market myself for future endeavors. Information services aside, I have met some truly kind and supportive people, and I am thankful to be a part of this team!

What are your future career goals?

As a communications major, there are so many different career paths where I can use my degree! I am hoping to gain some experience in communication management and public relations this Summer. All in all, I am looking to do work that I am passionate about.

What are some extracurricular activities you are involved in?

I am proud to be the Vice President of the UConn Chordials, which was the first A Capella group on UConn’s campus in 1998! Our all-female identifying group has so much fun performing on campus and hanging out with other A Capella groups here at UConn.

What is something unique about you?

My family and I lived in Switzerland for a Summer when I was younger, and I would love to go back and experience it as an adult!

What would you say to a student who has never visited the Center for Career Development before?

As someone whose career aspirations are somewhat all over the place, I highly recommend utilizing the Center for Career Development even if you do not have any specific goals in mind. Talking with a Career Coach or other staff will help you explore opportunities and personal ambitions that you may not know exist. The future can be intimidating, but the Center for Career Development is here to help!
