How have you personally used and benefitted from the Center for Career Development?

The Center for Career Development has been crucial in my path to achieving my career goals throughout college. I had my first resume critique appointment at the beginning of my freshman year, and I quickly realized the abundance of resources the center had to offer. Throughout my 3 years working for the Center for Career Development, I have greatly improved my public speaking, networking, and interviewing skills, along with my ability to represent myself through written documents such as my resume and cover letters.

What are your future career goals?

I am a mathematically-minded person who gets excited about problem-solving, but I am also extremely motivated by the connections I make and the relationships I build. I would like to use my extroverted personality and data analysis skills to work in procurement or sourcing within the supply chain department of an organization, because of the combined use of communication and analysis.

What are some extracurricular activities you are involved in?

I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega, a social sorority that is a part of the UConn Panhellenic Council. I am also involved in Greek InterVarsity, a Christian bible study for members of greek life at UConn.

What is something unique about you?

I have traveled to 5 countries in Europe! Most of my dad’s side of the family lives in Belgium and Germany, so I have been very fortunate to be able to travel to visit them and explore other parts of Europe as well.

What would you say to a student who has never visited the Center for Career Development before?

Don’t wait to come see us! It’s never too early to start thinking about your career, and we have so many amazing staff-members and student interns who are so excited and willing to help you achieve your goals.
