How have you personally used and benefitted from the Center for Career Development?
I’ve appreciated the many resources and opportunities for career exploration the Center for Career Development offers to students at every stage of their journey. They offer online guides for résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, and major/career exploration that are great tools for students. I have also utilized the résumé critiques, career fairs, and career consulting services to connect with different opportunities and employers. My major and career interests have changed throughout my time at UConn and I’ve always appreciated the Center for Career Development’s emphasis on career exploration as a “continual journey.”
What are your future career goals?
I am continually exploring different careers using the Career Center’s resources, though I am most interested in exploring the hospitality, HR, or corporate social responsibility sectors.
What are some extracurricular activities you are involved in?
At UConn, I am a mentor in the Peer Allies Through Honors (PATH) program as well as the Co-President of Alima International Dance Association.
What is something unique about you?
I love to kayak in the summer!
What would you say to a student who has never visited the Center for Career Development before?
The Center for Career Development has a wide variety of useful tools for students at all stages of their career journey. Even if you are not sure where to start when considering your major, career, or job search, the staff and students at the Career Center are very welcoming and can guide you to valuable resources that may spark career interests or inspiration you hadn’t considered before!
