Submit a Proposal for the Career Everywhere Conference

The Career Everywhere Team invites you to submit a proposal to present at this year’s Career Everywhere Conference, Career Everywhere Conference: Enhancing Mentorship & Supervision for Student Success. This Conference will be a one-of-a-kind day amplifying conversations around advancing supervision and mentorship of UConn students. We invite presenters to share their knowledge, research, and best practices.  

This conference features two distinct tracks: 

Track 1: Supervision 
This track aims to enhance supervisors’ abilities to develop student employees by providing advanced skills in feedback, training strategies, diverse supervisory styles, and fostering career competencies in a collaborative, inclusive workplace. 

Track 2: Mentorship 
This track aims to help mentors develop skills to assist mentees with academic planning, career exploration, and connecting them with resources, while promoting a growth mindset and fostering essential career competencies. 

Below are several examples of potential Presentation Proposals for your consideration.

We are accepting proposals for the following types of sessions:

Traditional Session: Highlight your expertise in a session built on the traditional teacher–student format.  
Length: 60 minutes 

Panel Session: These sessions provide an opportunity to gain insight and advice from several subject matter experts knowledgeable about a specific topic or issue. 
Length: 60 minutes 

Decision notifications for all proposal submissions will be emailed the week of August 19th, 2024. 

What technology will be available for breakout session presenters? 

The breakout session spaces will be equipped with Wi-Fi, a presentation screen, and a presentation clicker. We recommend that presenters bring their own laptops to connect to the presentation screen, but our conference staff will have backup laptops available if needed. 

Is travel funding available to presenters and panelists who are not local to the UConn Storrs campus?  

No, unfortunately we are unable to offer travel funds.
