Career services are active on all our regional campuses, especially at this urban campus located in the center of one of the nation’s most robust business communities. The Center for Career Development welcomes employers to participate in career fairs, recruiting events and presentations for student professional development. UConn’s career services are connected throughout all campuses through the online platform Handshake which offers opportunities for employers to post jobs and internships for all students and alumni to view. Please note, UConn Center for Career Development is currently hosting all employer events virtually.

Recruit and Engage

  • Posting a Job, Internship, or Co-Op
The university uses Handshake, an online job board, for all internship, co-op, and career-related job postings.
  • Career Fairs
    Fall & Spring Career Fairs:
A majority of UConn’s Stamford students seek career opportunities in the Greater New York City area including Fairfield County. The Fall and Spring Career Fairs provide an opportunity for employers from corporate, government and nonprofit sectors to attract Stamford student talent for full-time employment, internships, or other professional opportunities. The Fall Career Fair occurs in late September or early October and the Spring Fair takes place in early March.  Please note, for Fall 2020, UConn Center for Career Development will be hosting our first ever Virtual Career Fair Week!  For more information, please click here.
  • Career Conversations/Career Tuesdays

Weekly events, for organizations to connect with students and talk about opportunities in your organization and in your industry. This is a chance to help students learn about a career in your organization or industry and to learn more about what it takes, academically, to have a successful career. It’s also an opportunity for you to find some talent for your open positions – including immediate part-time opportunities. Please note, for Fall 2020, UConn Center for Career Development will be hosting Career Conversations/Career Tuesdays virtually.

  • Co-Presentation Opportunities

The Center for Career Development provides coaching sessions, resume workshops, career development modules in FYE (Freshman Year Experience) and LinkedIn clinics. We welcome employers – especially alums – to co-present to our students in any of our professional development workshops.

There are various student clubs and organizations on campus – present on a topic related to their area of interest. Please note, for Fall 2020, UConn Center for Career Development will be hosting co-presentation opportunities virtually.

  • Career Everywhere

    Employer Guest blogger!

We welcome our employers to be a guest blogger on our UConn Center for Career Development Career Communities web page.  Simply pick your industry or field’s career community and write a blog on career insight from an employer perspective! Topics can include tips on job search, interviewing, industry/field trends, general career advice. The topic is up to you and a great way to brand your organization as industry experts!

    Employer Career Champion

In support of Career Everywhere, the Center for Career Development sponsors a Career Champion program that connects and engages faculty, staff, alumni, and employer partners who are actively assisting students in determining and reaching their career goals. We know that students seek advice about their career aspirations and plans from all around – family, friends, faculty, staff, alumni and employer partners – not just our career office.  We believe that extending this opportunity to our valued campus partners sends a message to students – your future talent – but also gives you an opportunity to brand and network with other Career Champions on campus – faculty, staff and alumni.

The Career Champion Program is designed to be flexible, understanding that employers already have their plates full and asking them to do one more thing can be daunting. There is no monetary cost and there is no minimum time requirement. The goal of identifying Career Champions is to create a community around common language and common goals to enhance the readiness and employability of our students. We plan to recognize Career Champions regularly at our events; and to provide access to our services. We will also ask our employer partners to provide any expertise they’d like to share with peer Champions (faculty, staff, alums) as well as with students – but this is purely voluntary.  And, of course, we will celebrate you and the group’s successes each semester.
