To observe, learn, and support CBIA during the post-legislative process through direct experience performing a variety of assigned duties including research and bill analysis, participating in varied activities and trainings, and completing interrelated academic projects.
Duration: June 5, 2024-August 1, 2024
Part-time: Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs
Supervision Received:
Interns are assigned to members of the Public Policy Department. and work under direct supervision of those offices/staff, as well as the general supervision of the Vice President of Public Policy.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Computer skills including knowledge of computer software Microsoft and Google Products and remote work/learning capabilities
- Ability to respond professionally to legislators, staff, member companies, and the public
- Strong relationship building ad networking skills
Examples of Duties:
- Conduct policy research for the 2025 policy agenda
- Assist in the creation of our long-term economic plan
- Assist with the creation of the legislation scorecard
- Attend forums, member company visits, and meetings with public officials
- Write policy articles, bill analyses, coalition letters, etc.
- Create, distribute, and tabulate surveys
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, sorting, answering phones and mail distribution
- Other duties assigned
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- 18 years of age or older
- Undergraduate student, enrolled full-time in a college or university with a minimum 20 credits (no more than 3 Ap credits) by program start
- Minimum cumulation Grade Point Average of 2.7
- Majors/Minors in political science, communications, public administration, public policy, economics, data analytics, pre-law, and business administration/management strongly encouraged to apply
- Graduate students enrolled in a JD, MPA/MPP, or MBA program may also apply
$750 stipend
Note: any academic credit is awarded by the college or university where the student is enrolled via the academic liaison assigned by the school for participation in the program. The amount of credit is determined by the school and the number of hours accrued through program participation.
