Eligible Class Standings & Minimum GPA:
Sophomore, Junior, Senior undergraduate students; 2.5/4.00 minimum cumulative GPA

Credit, Compensation & Hours:
Education Abroad is open to working with academic departments to arrange credit for this internship. Please see guidelines for earning academic credit for your internship; Unpaid; Between 9-12 hours per week.

Description of Internship Position:
Education Abroad seeks a Social Media Intern to assist with creating and maintaining social media engagement through Education Abroad accounts. They will work with the Education Abroad staff to help realize an image that expresses the transformative nature of Education Abroad programming for UConn students and assist with the design, development, and production of high-quality materials for students, staff, faculty, parents, and other constituents. They will work in compliance with both University policy and the vision of Education Abroad.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating posts for Education Abroad’s social media accounts
    under the direction of the Office Coordinator
  • Developing content for the weekly Education Abroad newsletter
    whose target audience is university staff and faculty
  • Help create coherent messaging and imagery for Education
    Abroad across its social media platforms and other promotional
  • Assist in creating a WordPress blog featuring student experiences
  • Uphold an expert understanding of the university confidentiality
    policy and Education Abroad’s application process and
  • Maintain a guide for Education Abroad social media procedures
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Important Details:
Currently a remote position for the Fall 2020 semester, will be re-evaluated for the Spring 2021 semester.
