Marisa Thalberg, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer for Lowe’s Corporation joined the Center for Career Development last year to discuss tips on pitching your business. Thalberg has been recognized as one of the top CMOs by Forbes, Business Insider, and New York Women in Communications. Last fall, Thalberg represented Lowe’s on USA Network’s new show for entrepreneurs, America’s Big Deal.

A business plan outlines your company’s goals, the strategies necessary to achieve those goals, the time frame, and the financing of your business. The Connecticut Small Business Development Center will join the Center for Career Development and the School of Business Career Development Office to discuss developing a business plan. Starting a Foundation

Do you have an idea for a foundation? Learn the steps to starting your foundation from UConn alum Santiago Muriel. Muriel’s foundation, Espiritu Animal, is based out of Viterbo, Caldas, Columbia, and focuses on improving animals’ health and welfare. The foundation performs pet sterilizations to improve public health and avoid conditions of abandonment or animal abuse. During this presentation, Muriel speaks to his experience of starting an international foundation and the resources he found helpful throughout the process.
