Multicultural Education Teaching Conference

Our theme this year, Reframing the Picture: A New Vision for Our Students, was inspired by the start of a new decade. Being that it is 2020, we wanted to link the phrase “2020 vision” to the theme of our conference. As we thought deeper about 2020 vision, we saw it as an opportunity to focus our attention on the importance of student voice and identity. The aim of our conference is to uplift and provide clarity to educators and professionals in the field of education. This is a conference for professionals in the education field, current students in teacher prep programs and those interested in the field of education. It is open to all UConn undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, as well as professionals, students, and educators from institutions and districts outside of UConn. The conference will open with remarks from a keynote speaker (stay tuned for this release!). Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions on a variety of topics related to multicultural education and culturally responsive teaching. If you would like to submit a presentation proposal, please visit our Google Form. We ask that you share this information with those who might be interested, as this is a great opportunity for personal growth and professional development!
