Guest Speaker: Munachim I. Uyanwune, M.D., M.B.A.
Munachim I. Uyanwune, M.D., M.B.A., is a board-certified psychiatrist. She holds dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Connecticut, including a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Arts in French. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine. While enrolled in medical school, she obtained an M.D., M.B.A. degree after graduating with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, School of Business. Dr. Uyanwune completed her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Residency Program. After her
residency training, Dr. Uyanwune practiced as a full-time attending medical doctor at Sheppard Pratt Hospital for several years. During this time, she worked in various settings including Sheppard Pratt’s crisis walk-in clinic, the adult day hospital, and the transitional aftercare clinic. In addition to this, she had worked in
outpatient psychiatry care in private practice, and community health. She currently provides psychiatric services on various telepsychiatry platforms to clients. She is deeply involved in her local community, and is engaged in monthly Baltimore city community projects through several non-profit organizations. Dr. Uyanwune is also part of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and serves on the advisory council/board of the APA foundation, Center for Workplace Mental Health.
