Department of Animal Science – Animal Science Intern

Application Details – Period, Process & Required Materials: Year Round; contact michael.darre@uconn.edu to obtain more information on internship opportunities. The application materials will be emailed to you when you contact Professor Darre.
Eligible Class Standings & Minimum GPA: Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate Student; 2.00/4.00
Credit, Compensation & Hours: Zero to six credits, depending on type of internship. Either paid or unpaid, depending on the internship. A minimum of 3 hours per week over a 14 week period for each credit earned.
Description of Internship Site: The Department of Animal Science is dedicated to enriching the minds of their students with the flexibility to pursue areas of specific interest.

Description of Internship Position: Students may intern at veterinary clinics, zoos and aquaria, dairy farms, horse farms, research facilities, animal shelters, animal rehabilitation facilities, etc. Almost any place where an animal science student would learn about applying their academic training.
Additional Important Details: This internship is only available for students in the Animal Science major.
