Interview Preparation

While your résumé may get you an interview, it is the interview that gets you the job! Whether you are interviewing for a job, internship, graduate school, or other opportunity, the key to successful preparation is a thorough understanding of the position or program and how your personal interests, skills, and values align with it. The Center for Career Development offers numerous resources to help you prepare for a successful interview.

Schedule a Practice Interview

Participating in a practice interview with the Center for Career Development can help you make your best impression on an employer or program representative. These appointments are designed to expose you to traditional and behavioral style interview questions, provide you with personalized feedback, and share additional tips and tricks to help you put your best foot forward in an interview. Schedule a practice interview or call or stop by the Center for Career Development to discuss availability.

Interviewing Labs

Interview labs are 1.5-hour workshops open to all individuals interested in learning more about the process of interviewing. Each lab starts with a short presentation to go over interviewing tips and strategies and then breaks out into four concurrent stations, staffed by members of the Center for Career Development, that focus on some of the toughest aspects of interviewing. Attendees are welcome to rotate through each stations based on their level of interest and leave when desired. Find out when the next interviewing lab will be offered.
