2021 Summer Internship Program

Abernathy MacGregor is providing a paid summer internship opportunity in our New York office. This 10-week summer program is focused on providing insight into the world of strategic communications through introductions to our key practice areas, the opportunity to work with client teams on intricate, business critical issues and training on the advanced tools and practices that power our business. An Abernathy MacGregor internship will provide participants with the skills, insights and knowledge to understand the highly complex, dynamic and interconnected world we live in.

We are looking for diverse backgrounds and skillsets, but with interests in the media, business/finance, politics and regulatory affairs, law, strategy, and problem-solving. Strong candidates will be skilled writers who are interested in learning how we help our clients achieve business goals across the various sectors and industries in which we practice.

The program is expected to begin June 7, 2021 and continue through August 13, 2021. Over the course of the summer, interns will be exposed to our firm and industry through practical trainings, performing complex research, getting plugged into client teams and through participating in seminars and group tours of media organizations and financial institutions.

Responsibilities could include:

· Create media lists and editorial calendars

· Track firm’s clients in the media

· Research prospective clients, current clients and client competitors

· Proofread, edit press releases, memos, presentations and other documents created for clients

· Monitor and analyze breaking news and changes in stock prices of particular companies

· Collect and summarize SEC filings and analyst reports

· Help to organize logistical aspects of corporate announcements

· Take part in strategy and brainstorm sessions as well as trainings

· Work as a group with intern colleagues to complete a research project on a timely subject, presenting findings to the entire firm

· Support entire office, from receptionist to Managing Director

To Apply:

Please email a cover letter and your resume to InternshipProgram@abmac.com as soon as possible before Friday, February 19, 2021. We will review and accept applications on a rolling basis. You will be contacted if you are selected for an interview. Please note that preference will be given to candidates who will have completed at least the junior year of their bachelor’s degree by the start of the program.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Please note that we will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
