Accounting Manager

Apicella + Bunton Architects LLC is a full-service architectural firm located in New Haven, Connecticut, specializing in planning and design services for academic, cultural, corporate, and residential clients. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team of professionals. The ideal person should be eager to collaborate, be proactive, and be willing to take on responsibilities and grow with the firm.

The Accounting Manager’s areas of focus will include:

Project Accounting

  • Preparation of project proposals and contracts
  • Preparation of monthly invoices
  • Review and payment of consultant invoices
  • Monthly tracking and financial analysis

Project Planning

  • Revenue forecasting
  • Resource management and scheduling
  • Project income and expense analysis
  • Risk analysis

Firm Accounting and Management

  • Day-to-day operations
  • General accounting
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end filings and reports
  • Firm planning

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Organized with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional character, ability to be trusted with confidential and sensitive information
  • Adept with Microsoft Office especially with Excel
  • Experience with Unanet A/E accounting software (preferred)
  • Experience in a professional services organization (preferred)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (preferred)
  • Experience in a similar capacity is beneficial but not required

This is a full-time position. Part-time employment of 20-30 hours a week may be considered.

The salary for this position is commensurate with job-related education and experience. Benefits begin after a 60-day introductory period and include two weeks of paid vacation, 9 paid holidays, 8 paid sick/personal days, health insurance, and 401K profit sharing plan.
