Epsilon is seeking a full-time project engineer or scientist to work as part of the Epsilon team on a wide range of environmental licensing, permitting and compliance projects. This position will encompass work primarily in the Acoustics Group.
In the Acoustics Group, the successful candidate will assist with community sound level measurement programs, meteorological data collection, data analysis, shadow flicker analyses from wind turbines, sound level modeling, and report preparation. This position requires periodic field work as well as overnight, out-of-state travel for renewable energy projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-7 years of experience in a consulting environment,
- B.S. in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Physics,
- Experience in using sound level measurement equipment,
- Experience with the Cadna/A model,
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, and
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
The successful applicant will also have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have project management experience. Expected computer skills include facility with MS Word and MS Excel, as well as a working familiarity with AutoCAD or GIS. Experience in the energy industry, wind industry, materials handling business, and with the FHWA TNM model is a plus along with experience in presenting technical material to clients, agency staff and/or regulatory boards.
In addition to the Preferred Qualifications, the Candidate must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle for business travel, including proper insurance and registration and have all necessary paperwork to work in the USA.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
The Candidate must:
- be able to work outside in all weather conditions for an extended period of time, as necessary;
- work on a computer for extended periods of time;
- carry equipment weighing 40-85 pounds on either paved paths, trails, or fields; and
- complete periodic field work as well as overnight, out-of-state travel

Epsilon maintains a professional office located in an old mill in Maynard, MA. Office space is clean, quiet, and friendly. At this time, due to COVID, the office is open on a limited basis. Company employees are mainly working remotely, which is well supported by company infrastructure.
