Come join our friendly, fun-loving team! Evergreen is hiring for hospitality assistants at its Stamford location. This role includes a variety of hands-on hospitality and operations experiences with the senior population. The assistant will gain valuable experience with administrative tasks and hands-on interaction with older adults who have demonstrated mild cognitive or physical impairment. The ideal candidate must display a high level of empathy with seniors, strong communication skills, adaptability, professionalism and creativity.
Part 1: Daily Operations
- Monitor the AM/PM transportation schedule, documenting changes and arrival times.
- Monitor mealtime orders and assist with distribution.
- Maintain a task list pertaining to operations issues.
Part 2: Member Advocacy
Monitor individual members, providing additional focus as needed and assisting with activities. This could include:
- Initiating a conversation to stimulate engagement
- Monitoring wandering behaviors
- Greeting members and families during arrival/departure and opening/closing doors
- Walking a member to/from the rest room
- Assisting Evergreen staff with assigned tasks, such as:
- Lending a hand to dining staff during meal times
- Taking photographs as needed for daily communications
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to connect with seniors; outstanding verbal communications
- Demonstrated interest in hospitality, health care, business operations, customer service
- Passion, dedication, teamwork, interest in learning new things, attention to detail are desired
- Willingness to work with older adults with mild cognitive or physical impairment
- Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus
- UCONN Stamford student is desired
- Prior experience in a hospitality/customer service setting is preferred
