Family Centers is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to provide the PAT (Parents as Teachers) evidenced-based parent education and support program utilizing the PAT curriculum, to first and -second time parents living in Stamford/Greenwich areas. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.
The program focus is on child development and parenting education, case management and referrals to community providers through home visits to first and second-time parents as they manage the myriad of challenges that come with bringing a new baby into the world. The program provides home visits and is delivered from the third trimester of pregnancy until the child reaches the age of five. It utilizes an evidence-based model that focus on target areas of intervention, namely nurturing parenting, healthy families, parent life outcomes, school readiness, healthy development, and emotional security.
The incumbent will provide support to parents via in-person and virtual visits, as well as telephone support. They will need to build trusting, effective relationships with the families they serve, and act as a resource to the families and PAT staff. Candidate must have ability to be creative, innovative and resourceful; maintain collaborative relationships with community service providers; handle varied duties and responsibilities; maintain timely and accurate records of all client contacts.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or Human Services field or equivalent and/or relevant work experience
- Prior experience working with vulnerable children and families of diverse social and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to travel locally
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
