Temporary position

$25/hour

At the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center our mission is to promote an enhanced quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and supportive person to work with a child in a home-based setting. As an Associate Behavior Support Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Protecting the rights and dignities of children with special needs and extending these rights and dignities to family members or guardians
  • Providing individual treatment focusing on behavioral objects for children with Special Health Care Needs ages 2 to 21 in various environments
  • Implementing learning programs (communication, self-help, play/social skills) under the direct supervision of a Licensed Clinician
  • Gathering behavioral data to track progress in reaching behavioral objectives identified in the behavior plan
  • Incorporating parent training to ensure family members/caregivers can teach and support skills during typical family activities
  • Assisting in the training and orientation of new staff; providing co-workers with positive and constructive feedback
  • Performing any other job responsibilities as directed by supervisor

Education/ Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, or at least two years of supervised experience working with children with special health care needs is required
  • Experience implementing behavior support plans and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Must successfully pass BCI and CANTs screenings
  • A valid driver’s license, safe driving record, automobile insurance, and access to vehicle to be used as directed and when needed for transport
