Receptionist / Legal Assistant

Plaintiff Workers’ Compensation Law Firm

Location: Danbury, CT

Language: English and Spanish (Required)

Employment Type: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Position Overview

Workers’ compensation law firm dedicated to representing injured workers seeks a compassionate, organized, and professional Receptionist / Legal Assistant. This position is often the first point of contact for injured workers and their families. Fluent in Spanish is a must and ideal for a bilingual (English/Spanish) individual who can communicate clearly, patiently, and empathetically while providing strong administrative support in a busy legal practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for injured worker clients, in person and by telephone
  • Answer and manage incoming calls with professionalism and empathy
  • Communicate with clients fluently in both English and Spanish
  • Schedule client appointments and medical examinations
  • Maintain and organize electronic client files
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding appointments, medical visits, and case status
  • Coordinate with medical providers, insurance adjusters, and the Workers’ Compensation Commission
  • Maintain calendars, track deadlines, and follow up on outstanding items
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Perform routine office duties including scanning, copying, mail handling, and data entry
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a compassionate demeanor
  • Excellent phone presence and professional communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; familiarity with legal case management software is a plus
  • Work authorization: United States (Required)
