Teach For America Corps Members are emerging leaders who commit to teaching in under-resourced schools for at least two years while working alongside students, families, educators, and communities to advance educational opportunity. Corps Members serve as full-time classroom teachers in partner schools and receive ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development throughout their corps experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a full-time teacher of record in a partner school.
- Plan and deliver high-quality instruction that supports student growth and achievement.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
- Use student data to inform instruction and continuously improve practice.
- Participate in professional development, coaching, and certification requirements as applicable.
- Contribute to school and community initiatives that support student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree by the start of corps service.
- Demonstrated leadership, perseverance, and commitment to working with children and communities.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A belief in the potential of all students and a commitment to educational excellence and opportunity for all.
