Internship Expires March 2, 2021

The Boston Globe is offering an excellent educational opportunity for students: to be part of its daily news operation this July-December and network with professionals in the industry — all while getting paid.

Co-op students work in a variety of editorial departments, supporting reporters and editors, photographers and photo editors, designers and design editors, as well as the News copy desk. While not a writing program, per se, students will have opportunities to report on the news and write stories. Photo coops will have opportunities to shoot photo assignments, Design coops to create inside pages and section fronts, and copy desk coops to edit copy for the Boston Globe’s website and daily newspaper. Students from any major may apply; preference may be given to students with journalism experience.

As part of the program, we hold an orientation at the beginning of the rotation and offer monthly educational sessions specifically for the co-ops led by professionals in the field.

The application deadline is March 1, 2021.

To be eligible, applicants must be full-time undergraduate students with a minimum of one full semester of classes remaining after the co-op assignment ends. Students must be able to work 37.5 hours per week, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
