Job Description: – Postdoctoral researcher in regenerative medicine

The laboratory of Dr. Chintan Kikani (www.kikanilab.com) at the University of Kentucky is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated candidate with training in biochemistry, cell biology, physiology or genetics related area for a postdoctoral research fellow position. The successful candidate will work on NIH funded projects to investigate the interplay between the metabolic network and epigenetic processes in stem cells. Specifically, the project will employ cell biological techniques, metabolomics analysis and next-gen genomic strategies to examine how environmental conditions (signaling) impact stem cell function and regenerative capacity. The selected individual will be supported through strong mentor ship, grant writing opportunities, and presentation at relevant scientific conferences with networking opportunities.

Desired skills and experience:

The applicant must have a Ph. D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field, with significant laboratory experience, exemplified by publication(s). Eligible applicants should be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative environment. The applicant will be expected to be involved in several research projects and contribute to the writing of grant applications and publications.

A post-doctoral fellow position at the University of Kentucky is a temporary position with very competitive salary support and full benefits intended to provide training and education in research to advance the individuals to an independent career. Department of Biology boasts an active group of researchers with an interest in various aspects of regenerative biology and medicine.
