The purpose of this organization is to raise awareness for healthcare and socioeconomic disparities in Haiti. To actively make an impact on these disparities, we provide opportunities for undergraduates to collect donated amenities from on-campus drives, fundraise for Haitian communities and clinics, and meet with providers working in Haiti.
H4H uniquely provides sustainable service and develops long lasting ties to the same local community by working with a U.S. 501 nonprofit organization called the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF). Additionally, partnering with HHF bypasses large philanthropic organizations in order to ensure that funds are appropriately utilized to provide aid locally to those who need it the most – instead of losing valuable donations in the labyrinth of the bureaucracies of large non-profits like American Red Cross.
We share and greatly value HHF’s mission, which is to improve the health and well-being of women, children, families and communities in Haiti through healthcare, education and community development.
