Women in Physics is an organization with a deliberate focus on both physics and the core principles of human rights. We claim that each physics student should be aware of the hegemonic culture in the larger physics community, and that each student equipped with this knowledge is obliged to both discuss and actively combat the norms which perpetuate such exclusivity. Women in Physics exists at the intersection of two seemingly different areas of study, striving to always demonstrate social awareness and inclusion in a community with a history of discrimination.
