On-Campus Interviewing Policies & Procedures for CCD Employers

Updated July 2017

Policies for Employers

  • Request for On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) should be made at least 4 weeks in advance of the date of the interview. We will do our best to accommodate requests with less than 4 week lead time.
    • Approval/denial of requests made with less than 4-weeks-notice are made at the discretion of the Center for Career Development (CCD).
  • Submitted requests for OCI should contain as much detail as possible to ensure the request is able to be processed appropriately upon receipt.
    • Missing information such as job description/s, job requirements and 2nd and/or 3rd preference interview dates may prevent a request from being initially approved. In the event a request cannot be approved, a member of the CCD staff will reach out to the employer.
    • The CCD will respond to requests for OCI within 72 business hours of receipt of the request.
In this communication the CCD will either confirm receipt and approval of the request or respond with any necessary questions regarding the request in order to be able to process it.
  • All requested changes to the set-up of an OCI schedule (date of interview, interview slot length, number of slots, etc.) need to be made prior to students having signed up for interviews. This applies to pre-select interviews only.
    • If changes are requested prior to student sign up for interviews, the CCD will process any requested changes (as appropriate). Changes requested after the student sign up for interview process has begun are at the discretion of the CCD and the responsibility of the employer. Please see below:
      • Change of Interview Date
Changes to the interview date made after student sign up are the responsibility of the employer. First, the employer must work with the CCD to book space for the new date. Next, the employer is responsible for communicating the change to all students that have already selected interview times. The employer must provide the CCD with an updated copy of the interview schedule no later than the evening prior to the interview date or the morning of prior to interviews beginning.
      • Change of Interview Schedule
Changes to the Interview Schedule made after student sign up are the responsibility of the employer which includes all communication to students and providing the CCD with an updated copy of the interview schedule no later than the evening prior to the interview date or the morning of prior to interviews beginning.
      • Extension of Selection Period
If the employer misses the selection deadline, the CCD will extend the selection period so that the employer can invite more students to interview. The CCD will cut off the selection period with enough time prior to the date of interview so that students can respond and select an interview slot.
      • Cancellation
Employers must notify CCD as soon as possible if cancelling interviews

Winter Weather Policy

  • Campus Closed – OCI is cancelled. CCD will work with the employer to reschedule, if requested.
  • Delayed Opening – OCI is cancelled. CCD will work with the employer to reschedule, if requested.
  • Early Departure – The remaining interviews for the day are cancelled. The CCD will work with the employer to re-schedule any missed interviews, however, the CCD does not guarantee an employer will make up for the cancelled interviews – that is at the sole discretion of the employer.
  • Communication – All weather policies are clearly stated in all materials, communications and on website and therefore, no communication to students in the event of closings will be made. Employers are encouraged to enroll in text alerts but a message will also be sent from the CCD in the event of a closing to the employer contact listed for the OCI.
