Looking your best shouldn’t be a barrier to achieving your career goals. The Career Clothing Closet provides free, gently used professional attire to help UConn Hartford students feel confident for interviews, networking events, internships, and career fairs.

Our Mission
The UConn Hartford Career Clothing Closet empowers students to present themselves with confidence in professional settings by providing free access to high-quality business attire. Our mission is to remove financial barriers, promote equity, and support career readiness for all students. Through community donations and sustainable practices, we equip Huskies with the clothing and confidence they need to succeed in interviews, internships, networking events, and beyond.
Why It Matters
Your skills and experiences speak volumes, but first impressions matter too. Many students face financial challenges that make purchasing professional attire difficult. The Career Clothing Closet ensures every student has the opportunity to walk into a room looking and feeling their best, without the added expense.
How It Works
- Drop In During Open Hours – No appointment needed.
- Sign In – A quick sign-in helps us track usage and improve the closet.
- Shop the Closet – Browse our selection of suits, blazers, dress shirts, blouses, pants, skirts, shoes, and accessories.
- Take Them Home – All clothing is free for you to keep—no returns required.
Who Can Use the Closet?
Any current UConn Hartford student is welcome, whether you need a single tie or a complete interview outfit.
Donate to the Closet
Help us keep the closet stocked! We accept:
- Professional suits, blazers, dress shirts/blouses, pants, skirts
- Professional shoes, belts, ties, scarves, and handbags
- Items must be clean, gently used or new, and in good condition
Drop-Off Location: Same as closet location, during open hours
