Using AI for Interview Preparation

AI tools can serve as personalized interview support, helping you anticipate potential questions, practice your responses, and build confidence. When used strategically, AI can help you refine your communication skills, enhance your storytelling abilities, and better align your answers with the expectations of your desired role and field.

Start by clarifying the role and opportunity you’re preparing for. Use AI to generate common or role-specific interview questions, then practice your responses. You can also ask AI to evaluate your answers, suggest improvements, or help you tell your stories more clearly.

Be specific in your prompts. Include details like the job title, industry, and your background. The more context you give, the more tailored feedback you will receive to help you effectively prepare for an interview.

Don’t rely solely on AI. Pair your practice with feedback from a career coach, mentor, or friend. Use AI as one tool among many to help you feel more prepared and self-assured going into your interview.

Stay authentic. When you recite AI-generated content word-for-word or use AI to generate real-time answers during an interview, it is obvious to the interviewer. Interviewers want you to show your personality and demonstrate genuine interpersonal connection.
