The UConn chapter of Food Recovery Network is one of the 230+ chapters at college campuses nationwide dedicated to food recovery in the campus and surrounding community. Since 2011, Food Recovery Network as a whole has recovered 2.7 million pounds of food, donated 2.2 million meals, and prevented 2.4 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. In the Storrs/Mansfield area, we are partnering with outside food donors as well as food pantries to donate to in order to decrease food insecurity in Connecticut.
