A big congratulations to Kay Kimball Gruder and Lisa Famularo on being selected as recipients of the 2021 UConn Spirit Awards! Kay was selected as the University Citizen Award winner for exemplifying excellence in exhibiting University workplace values, and Lisa’s efforts in creating a campus climate where all members belong earned her the Inclusive Excellence Award.
Honorees in the seventh annual UConn Spirit Awards, which celebrate exceptional employees at the University, were announced in a virtual ceremony for the University community on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
The ceremony recognizes the efforts of employees, especially staff, in building community and promoting civility. The Spirit Awards program was originally the result of a survey conducted by the Something’s Happening Committee, which found a significant correlation between supportive interactions among colleagues and productivity on the job.
