About the Procurement Center of Excellence:
The Newell Brands Procurement Center of Excellence is focused on developing process and structure to maximize the delivery of value across Newell’s diverse portfolio of brands. The Procurement COE provides visibility across all areas within Procurement, exposing members to a variety of categories and product lines, while building fundamental skills needed for career development opportunities. Summary:
As part of the Procurement Center of Excellence, the Procurement COE Analyst will be responsible for providing support for strategic procurement activities, including spend analysis, detailed savings analysis, and RFx development and execution across all areas of Procurement (Direct Materials, Sourced Finished Goods, Indirect Services, Logistics/Transportation). The Procurement COE Analyst will assist in information gathering, data consolidation, and data refinement activities. In addition, the Procurement COE Analyst will be responsible for supporting the macro-level analysis of Procurement-related activities at a companywide level to further the Procurement group’s strategic vision.
Responsibilities:
- Support members of the Procurement COE and Category Sourcing groups to define requirements, scope analysis and reporting specifications, set reporting cadence, and establish data management plans
- Develop a deep level of understanding of the data under analysis, focusing on ensuring the right balance of accuracy and completeness with timely delivery of required information
- Learn, effectively utilize, and act as a steward of the Newell Strategic Sourcing Process
- Act as the Project Manager for high-spend initiatives, leading projects through the process
- Support RFI/P/Q execution, including scenario analysis and developing a supplier award recommendation
- Actively participate in the ideation process, using data to unlock opportunities to build the Procurement funnel
- Learn to navigate seamlessly throughout the organization during data gathering and analysis activities, fostering relationships with partners throughout the business to support data requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related field required
- Has strong analytical skills and demonstrates expertise in technical applications (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
- Feels comfortable manipulating large data sets and is able to leverage analytical skills to drive and influence business decisions
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving and project management skills and strives for continuous improvement
- Demonstrates basic business financial knowledge
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills in creating presentations and other high-quality deliverables
- Showcases maturity of being comfortable presenting to executive-level stakeholders and other cross-functional leadership
- Manages constructive and cooperative working relationships, often without introduction, and is able to function effectively on a team
- Demonstrates self-confidence and integrity in a challenging work environment; is able to act as a self-starter
- Shows initiative in taking ownership over new responsibilities, pushing boundaries, and challenging the status quo
The Connecticut base pay range for this position is from $67,540 to $92,855. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
