Sompo International is seeking Claims Interns for Summer 2024. Our internships are full-time, in-office for 10 weeks starting in June 2024.
The Internship Program is a 10-week development initiative designed to provide professional growth with potential long-term opportunity for successful individuals interested in the Insurance industry. You will learn with other Claims Interns how to investigate and maintain claims. Claims Interns will learn to gain proficiency in utilization of claims policies and guidelines, as well as how the Claims Department Protects corporate assets by ensuring the fair handling and prompt payment of legitimate claims. This role will focus on the use of the Claims data, thereby combining Claims knowledge and data/excel skills.
What can I expect as a Claims Intern?
On-the-job Learning
Insurance requires a high degree of experience and expertise – something you can’t learn in the classroom. Sompo International interns are immersed in the day-to-day activities of their team, to keep the underwriting and global claims team current on loss trends and market intelligence, ensure timely and accurate reporting of exposure to underwriting and management, and ensure appropriate narrative and arithmetic reports are timely prepared and disseminated.
As part of the Global Sompo Claims Team you will be expected to contribute to the success of the team by working closely with your colleagues worldwide on various projects as directed by the EVP, Global Insurance Claims, and other members of Executive Team.
Activities, Learning and Development
Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to hear from executive leaders, participate in structured, engaging leadership learnings, participate in networking events and activities with peers, members of our Executive team and outside brokerage firms, and be part of a project to present to their manager and mentor.
