Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description: Full time engineering position concentrating on the design of Walz & Krenzer custom equipment, including watertight doors/hatches, flood barriers, and other heavily-engineered custom products. For more information on our products, visit:

Engineers primarily perform the following work:
- Structural design and calculations, mostly of metal weldments (MathCad)
- Drawing creation (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) of design assembly arrangements, as well as shop fabrication detail drawings for product construction
- Project management (Microsoft Office software)
- Finite Element Analysis (Ansys)
- Design of hydraulic and electrical control systems
- Sales support, as required
- Visits to fabrication shops, as required, for operational testing and customer support
- On-site field technical support, as required
A successfully hired candidate will join our team of engineers to work full-time at our office located in Oxford, CT. All of our engineers have their own dedicated office space.
WK gives its engineers their own projects to design and manage, often from the initial sales process all the way through to product delivery and field support. Engineers must have excellent technical capabilities, as well as excellent communication skills and hands-on aptitude.
Office Hours and Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 8:30am – 4:30pm
- 40 hours per week required
- Must work in person at our Oxford, CT office location
Travel: <10% generally required
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: Negotiable. Starting engineer base salary is typically $65,000-75,000/year.
- Profit Sharing: Typical year-end bonuses have been 10%-20% of base salary in recent years, depending on company profitability.
- Overtime: Overtime is paid (per hour) for hours worked over 45 hours in a given week.
- Health Insurance: WK has a comprehensive insurance policy and also funds a revolving HRA account for each employee to use for qualified health expenses.

Year 1: 15 days of PTO
Year 2: 16 days of PTO
Year 3: 17 days of PTO

Year 6-10: 25 days of PTO
- 401(k): Once eligible, employees receive yearly contributions from the company of 10%-15% of base salary to their company 401(k) plan.
